Services

The Registry facilitates student success and progress by effectively managing student academic records from admission, registration, examination and graduation. The Registry should be contacted for the following services:

Correspondence & Letters of Academic Status

Letters may be issued for the following purposes within five (5) working days of the request:

  1. Embassy
  2. Income Tax
  3. Confirmation as a ROYTEC Student
  4. Letter of introduction to a company
  5. Confirmation of programme completion
  6. Letter to the Ministry of Education

Grade Consultations and Reviews

Grade reviews may be requested within one (1) week of the release of the final examination grades. Grade Consultations are available only to students receiving a failing grade in a course. Hyperlink Check the Student Handbook for more information.

Examinations

The first draft of the final examinations schedule is normally published on www.roytec.edu at least four (4) weeks before the start of the examination period. Students are required to report examination clashes to the Examinations Officer at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that changes can be considered for the second draft and final examination schedule. Select the following link to view the Examination Regulations.

Graduation

All students must apply to graduate, by completing the Application to Graduate form, which can be downloaded from the website or collected at the customer service counter. UNB students must complete the Application to Graduate form in addition to an online application accessible via the myUNB portal. The deadline dates for applying to graduate can be found on the Academic Calendar. For more information on graduation requirements, please view the Student Handbook.

Leave of absence

Students must officially apply for a Leave of Absence. Should a student, through compelling circumstances, be forced to interrupt his/her studies, such a student may request, through the Manager, Registry Services, that his/her registration be retained, and fees applied on resumption provided that such an interruption does not exceed one (1) year. Arrangements for resumption must be made through the Manager, Registry Services. Hyperlink Check the Student Handbook for more information.

Student transcripts

Official transcripts for the Associate Degrees and Diploma Programmes requested by students (other than the Student Copy) will be issued within ten (10) working days and forwarded directly to the institution requiring the records. UNB students: Please visit the UNB website at www.unb.ca to order transcripts for University of New Brunswick programmes.

Withdrawal from courses

A student may withdraw at any point, by written notice to the Manager - Registry Services. A student, who registers for a programme of any duration and withdraws from the course prior to the official last day to drop courses, i.e. within two weeks of the commencement of the class, will not incur any financial penalty. Students who withdraw from a programme after the official last day to withdraw will incur the relevant financial penalty and charges associated with any course in which they would have enrolled. Adding and dropping courses

A period of two weeks is allowed from the commencement of the Academic Term for adding courses. Students may add or drop courses in the first two (2) weeks of the term on the Online Student Administration System (Banner). Exact dates in effect for the current year are noted in the Academic Calendar available on this website.
