The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers' Association (TTMA)  , as part of its continued drive to provide relevant assistance to its members, has partnered with the UWI School of Business and Applied Studies Ltd (UWI-ROYTEC) to assist its members in improving the education level of their workforce, which has been identified as a major problem in Trinidad and Tobago's ranking on the global competitiveness index for 2010/2011 and 2017/2018 respectively.

Both organisations have worked together to develop a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Toolkit Training Programme that will address the above issue with the additional benefits of:

  1. Helping to increase the competitiveness of SMEs that participate;
  2. Assisting the Secretariat in better understanding the unique problems and challenges of SMEs locally that will lead to identification and application of more relevant solutions;
  3. Improving the export readiness of member SMEs.

The TTMA remains committed to creating an enabling environment for business and seeking to improve efficiency in the workplace through initiatives such as these.
