As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. Previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA now goes by its acronym only, to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals it serves. ISACA has more than 200 chapters worldwide, all of which offer an opportunity to share a broad range of professional expertise from diverse business communities. Chapters sponsor local educational seminars and workshops, engage in IT research projects, conduct regular chapter meetings, and help to further promote and elevate the visibility of the IS audit, control and security professional.

ISACA Student Groups (ISGs) encourage education beyond the classroom on standards, practices and certification. ISGs serve to empower students, raise awareness of ISACA and expand recognition of IT Audit and Assurance, Security and IT Governance disciplines. Students gain the opportunity to network and learn from each other, interact with professionals at events organised by the institution and the local chapter, providing the knowledge and experience to move them ahead of the competition when they graduate.

The UWI-ROYTEC ISACA Student Group (UWI-ROYTEC ISG), also known as the UWI-ROYTEC ISACA Student Organisation (UWI-ROYTEC ISO) is a great way for you to jumpstart your professional growth and development - even before you graduate! Each ISG is recognized by ISACA, affiliated with a local ISACA chapter, and encourages continuing education as well as personal and professional development beyond what you learn in the classroom.

ISACA Student Groups (ISGs) enable students like you to:

• Develop professional networks while pursuing your studies
  • Meet and connect with industry professionals at events sponsored by the institution and local ISACA chapter

On January 30th, 2025, UWI-ROYTEC hosted its inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony for the newly formed ISACA Student Group for the 2024–2025 academic year. The event was graced with the presence of Esther Callender-George, President of the ISACA Trinidad and Tobago Chapter.
