Total Quality Management and Process Improvement

Mr. Selwyn Medina
Quality Management Consultant/Trainer/Facilitator

In today's economy, it is no longer business versus business, but rather supply chain versus supply chain. To compete, supply chain members must learn to seamlessly integrate, grow, and develop business functions. Traditional total quality management practices have been and will continue to be used to address many of these supply chain integration issues. With this in mind, current managerial thinking is advancing the notion of Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM).

Supply Chain Quality Management is a process-based and systems-based approach to performance improvement that integrates supply chain partners and leverages opportunities produced by upstream and downstream linkages, with a focus on creating value and achieving satisfaction of intermediate and final internal and external customers

This training workshop provides the participants with an in-depth, hands-on approach to Total Quality Management and Process Improvement (TQM).  It focuses on the principles and philosophy enshrined in TQM; process improvement tools and techniques and the role of participants in creating a supporting environment that is conducive to and facilitates TQM.

The overall learning objectives and intent of this Total Quality Management and Process Improvement Training Workshop is to:

  1. Sensitize Participants on the Principles and Philosophy enshrined in TQM and process improvement
  2. Develop a common understanding amongst Participants on TQM and its application to all aspects of their Organization's business internally and externally
  3. Be able to apply tools and techniques associated with TQM in order to improve business processes internally and supply chain processes externally.
  4. Encourage Participants to be leaders by:
    1. Being knowledgeable about TQM and the tools and techniques associated with process and supply chain Improvement
    2. Understanding their (new) roles in leading the TQM implementation process
    3. Evangelizing the "Quality Word" to all Staff; thereby strengthening communication and information flow pertaining to quality and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
