UWI-ROYTEC’s Pathway to Success Equips Students for the Future

As students across Trinidad and Tobago await their CSEC and CAPE examination results, the UWI School of Business and Applied Studies (UWI-ROYTEC) is helping them confidently make their next move through its highly anticipated Pathway to Success programme.

From 13 July to 7 August, the programme will engage 180 students at UWI-ROYTEC's North and South Campuses. Through interactive workshops, hands-on learning experiences and direct engagement with lecturers and industry professionals, participants will gain valuable insights into careers in Marketing, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources and Entrepreneurship.

Since its launch in 2023, Pathway to Success has provided secondary school leavers with the guidance, skills and exposure needed to navigate the transition to higher education and the workplace, empowering them to make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

“Pathway to Success is more than a career development programme; it provides students with the confidence and real-world insights needed to shape their own path to career success,” said a UWI-ROYTEC representative. “The goal is to ensure participants leave the programme better informed, more prepared and inspired to succeed in an evolving world.”

The programme is offered free of charge through the support of corporate sponsors including the Massy Foundation, Caribbean Bottlers, Western United Credit Union, Subway, Naparima Boys' College, BVBIA - East, Restaurant Holdings, Cityscape Productions, S.W.A.T. Estate Police Co. and PSCU Credit Union.

In addition, UWI-ROYTEC will host its annual Career Fair on 15 July from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at its North Campus, 136–138 Henry Street, Port of Spain. Under the theme “Connect. Prepare. Succeed”, the event will bring together leading employers, students, graduates and job seekers for a day of networking, career exploration and professional development.

The Career Fair is open to the public, providing attendees with opportunities to establish professional connections, learn about career pathways, gain insights into current labour market trends and access practical job-readiness resources.

UWI-ROYTEC is currently accepting applications for its September intake, with programmes available in business, technology, teacher education, social sciences and real estate. Prospective students can choose from associate, bachelor's and master's degree programmes, as well as certificates and diplomas, tailored to support career advancement and workforce readiness.
