For Enrolment into University of New Brunswick (UNB)

UWI-ROYTEC transfer students must meet the minimum academic and language requirements of UNB to be considered for admission. In particular:

  • Students having earned a grade of "C" or higher in the courses subject to transfer and; being in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or C) in the UWI-ROYTEC program;
  • UNB Undergraduate Admissions regulations apply. UWI-ROYTEC students must complete an undergraduate online application form, provide all required supporting documentation including official academic transcripts and meet the minimum requirements for admission to the UNB BBA program: https://www.unb.ca/international/apply/index.html  

 


 

For Enrolment into Barry University

 

University undergraduate programs: Admission Requirements and Transfer Credits.

Eligibility: Students of UWI-ROYTEC who have completed an Associate of Science degree in management (ADM) or an Associate of Science degree in information Systems Management (ADISM) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, or higher depending on the specific Barry University undergraduate program requirements, will be eligible to apply for transfer.

UWI-ROYTEC students will be considered international transfer students. An international transfer student is defined as an applicant who is not a citizen or a legal resident alien of the United States and has at least 12 transferable credits from a regionally accredited college or university. Since the official language of Trinidad and Tobago is English, these students will not be required to take an English language proficiency test.

Merit-based scholarships: UWI-ROYTEC Associate of Science transfer students may qualify for merit-based scholarships up to $16,000 annually based on their GPA.

Barry University GRADUATE School:

Barry University will provide a twenty percent (20%) discount off its published tuition rate to baccalaureate graduates of UWI-ROYTEC who enroll in Barry University graduate programs (exclusions apply).

  • The discount rates shall be applied towards tuition only and shall not cover any fees such as, but not limited to, online course fees, late registration fees, late payment fees, portfolio fees, books or other required materials for the program.
  • The discount(s) cannot be combined with any other discounts. If a student qualifies for another discount, the greater discount will apply
  • Programs offered by Barry University, which can be found at https://www.barry.edu/en/admissions/graduate/  
  • Programs excluded from this agreement are as follows:
    1. Nursing (BSN, MSN, DNP, PhD)
    2. DNP-Anesthesiology
    3. Health Services Administration (MS) / Master of Public Health (MPH) Dual Degree Program
    4. MS in Biomedical Sciences
    5. Physician Assistant (PA)
    6. Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
    7. Doctor of Podiatric medicine / Business Administration (Dual Degree)- DPM/MBA
    8. Juris Doctor (JD)
    9. Counseling (MS and PhD)
    10. Barry University Online Programs also known as Academic Partnership Programs (online asynchronous versions of the following programs [exclusions do not  pertain to other versions of these programs]):
      • Master of Business Administration
      • Master of Public Administration

 

Conditions:

  • To be eligible for the tuition discount, a student must be a graduate of UWI-ROYTEC who has earned a baccalaureate degree within the last three (3) years and has been accepted into a Barry University graduate program.
  • All eligible students shall meet the admissions requirements, academic policies, and regulations set forth by Barry University’s School Handbook.
  • The University reserves the right to immediately rescind any discounted tuition rate offered if it is discovered that the candidate has provided false information to fulfill eligibility requirements. Candidates who provided false information and have enrolled in Barry University graduate programs may be subject to disciplinary action and may be held responsible for tuition costs at the standard rate.
  • This Agreement shall be construed, interpreted, enforced and governed by and under the laws of the state of Florida. Exclusive jurisdiction and any actions arising out of or relating to or in any way connected with this Agreement shall be in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Pathway to Success

UWI-ROYTEC is pleased to announce the launch of Pathway to Success 2025!

This initiative which was first launched in 2023, will span over the course of four (4) weeks and host 180 participants (45 persons per week), comprising secondary school students who are currently awaiting their CSEC and CAPE examination results.

Pathway to Success 2025 will commence on Monday July 14th 2025 and all enrolled participants will gain valuable knowledge and insight into the world of work, career and academic success, through first-hand exposure to A Day in the Life of:

  • A Marketing Professional
  • An IT Professional
  • An HR Professional
  • A Finance Professional
  • An Entrepreneur

Workshops will be engaging, informative, and interactive, with role-playing and group work included, to enhance the learning experience.

Most importantly, enrolling into UWI-ROYTEC's Pathway to Success programme is FREE, FREE, FREE!!

The Associate of Science Degree Programme in Management (ADM) prepares you for supervisory and middle management positions in business and government by developing the necessary knowledge, workplace competencies and real-world skills for the human and organisational aspects of management. The programme provides the analytical, creative and quantitative expertise required to utilise resources and make good business decisions. Graduates of this programme have the ability to adapt quickly to the expectations of employers and the work environment.

This programme of study is recognised by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT).

Objectives and Career Paths

The ADM programme equips students to be business professionals who can apply concepts and best practices to a variety of business situations. Students develop an understanding of the fundamental management concepts, research techniques and communication skills, enabling them to work in fast-pace and diverse business environments. Graduates can look forward to a wide range of career options in small, medium and large organisations in the public and private sectors. Some of these include (based on you work experience):

This programme of study is GATE approved!

 

Programme Structure

This programme is offered both on a full-time and part-time basis and is delivered through a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on computer lab sessions. At the end of this programme, students will be able to demonstrate the application of the knowledge and critical thinking skills to solve real-world business problems. Following the recommended programme structure allows students to complete the ADM programme as follows:

  • Full-time students: One (1) year and two (2) terms
  • Part-time students: Two (2) years and one (1) term

An Academic Year at UWI-ROYTEC is divided into three (3) terms.

The ADM programme offers a range of courses introducing students to accounting and finance, human resources, management, the social sciences, mathematics and languages. Students will also be required to:

  1. Choose between Spanish or Chinese as a foreign language option
  2. Choose 3 out of 10 elective courses during the programme completion period

Entry Requirements

A minimum of five (5) CXC passes, (General Proficiency) Grades I and II (Grade III accepted from June 1998 onwards) or five (5) GCE O' Level passes, Grades A, B and C or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics.

Applicants may also be considered on the basis of their work experience, training and educational background as deemed relevant by the UWI-ROYTEC Admissions Committee to be the equivalent of the above for the purpose of study and may be subject to an interview.
