External Opportunities
UWI-ROYTEC has established a tradition of fostering student development, not only with our internal programmes and workshops, but also by sponsoring and engaging student participation in relevant external opportunities. We continue to foster student growth and development by providing the necessary support for students to attend conferences and seminars, and access resources that will help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
Some development opportunities made available to UWI-ROYTEC students include:
National Youth Parliament
The Trinidad and Tobago Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) hosts the annual National Youth Parliament which is convened at the Office of the Parliament. UWI-ROYTEC students between the ages of 17 to 21 are usually invited to participate. This is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their debate and civil advocacy skills, learn to construct and defend arguments and gain invaluable experience and exposure. Ms. Lori Borde (pictured above, first from right) represented UWI-ROYTEC in 2009 and performed the role of the Leader of the House.
External Conferences, Seminars and Workshops
UWI-ROYTEC students are invited to participate in various Conferences, Seminars and Workshops hosted by other institutions, corporate bodies and overseas partners. Sponsorships are offered to those interested students.
